OVERSEAS DOMESTIC WORKER VISA BASIC REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have been employed as a domestic worker in the same employer's household overseas for at least one (1) year immediately before applying to enter the UK in this capacity.
Visa holders will need to accommodate and support themselves without recourse to public funds.
OVERSEAS DOMESTIC WORKER VISA ENTITLEMENTS
Successful applicants will initially be given permission to live in the UK for a maximum of 12 months. Subject to meeting certain legal requirements, the UK Border Agency may extend their permission to stay for additional 12 month periods. Once they have completed five (5) years stay in the UK as an Overseas Domestic Worker, they will be able to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR). ILR entitles individuals to permanent residency as well as visa-free travel to and from the UK . ILR holders may also be able to sponsor their non-British relatives to the UK and may also ultimately be eligible to acquire British nationality.
